in our application we'll have up to 6 instances running... so only 1 is
no good for us.

it's awesome to know you're planning this change to 2.5. My team will me
pleased to help you.

That helps. I'm getting used to the BGE code so I don't think it'd be
that hard (I'll first take a better look at the code though).
