[Bf-committers] B.doc_build_dir[-1]

In SConstruct, I get this error:

<type 'exceptions.IndexError'>: string index out of range:
  File "SConstruct", line 287:
    if not B.doc_build_dir[-1]==os.sep:

 Is it really possible to do this in Python? Negative subscripts?
Seems like a lazy hack if anything....
