Problem is that it search at both places and stop once it found one.
It search in /usr/local first.

Unfortunately you have in /usr/local only a ppc lib, which is useless
for you, but foil the script.

The best thing to do is to remove this non correct lib or install the
corresponding intel one. This is probably due to a bad macport
install
