[Bf-committers] a request to patch submitters

As you may have noticed, patch reviews are taking longer than you might like :)

A big part of this is that patches are time consuming to review and
that many patches end up being 'feature requests in disguise' as ton
likes to say.

If you are a patch submitter who would like to become a maintainer (ie
a 'core coder' with commit rights and responsibilities), please let us
know (you can mention it in your patch tracker entry). If there are
other patches in the tracker that are in code related to where you are
interested in maintaining please consider doing a patch review of that
code as well.

We will then try and prioritize the patches of those interesting in
maintainership and that will hopefully gain us more developer manpower
and in turn clear out the patch tracker faster. Those individuals who
are bug fixers and patch reviewers are the type of people we love to
add as maintainers :)
