[Bf-committers] Remaining NDOF issues in Turntable and Fly mode

Now that the showstopper NDOF issues have been solved, I'd like to ask for some thoughts on the following outstanding issues, which probably require some deeper code changes in the NDOF code.

1) NDOF translations are sluggish in turntable mode when the object is in the middle of the view.

Assuming the user applies the same force on the device, the translation speed increases considerably when the scene is more or less toward the borders of the current view. Note that this has not to do with the scene complexity: it can be observed even with the default cube after app startup.

2) Movements in Fly mode are very hard and slow when 2 degrees of freedom are changed simultaneously.

To see this you can just start flying forward, and then turn around RY. You'll notice the translation drops to almost 0 and in order to have some rotation a great amount of torque must be applied. Hence navigation is extremely clumsy.

Did you also experience these problems? I am not the author of the mentioned code, so do you have any thoughts on why is that and how to fix it?
