Option is only present on Mac keyboards AFAIK and is already in use as
Home/End alternative (it seems).

Ctrl+ArrowKey is reserved for scene switching, so Alt was the only
choice remaining. This will no doubt be entirely configurable in 2.50.
Note that Shift+ combinations also work (eg. Alt+Shift+Left extends
selection a word to the left).
