RC3 builds for os X ppc  are available there :  http://jlp.nerim.net/ 
dev/2-46RC/

blender-2.46-RC3-OSX-powerpc.dmg      is compatible from 10.3.9 to 10.5

blender-2.46-RC3-OSX-py2_5-powerpc.dmg      is compatible from 10.4  
to 10.5 and need a python 2.5 lib downloaded from python.org

I reverted to dmg from zips. It is a bit bigger, but more the Os X  
way and user friendly
