[Bf-committers] Release 2.44 AHOY!

Hi all,

Time to start the build engines!
As usual:

- platform managers build binaries, and tell me or Kent (or post here)  
where binary is
- we assume they did regression test on binaries, or ask others to help  
with it :)

ALso note that cvs write access will stop end of today, and tomorrow  
migration to svn happens.

I will now work on release log pages. Release itself is probably  
saturday daytime.
