[Bf-committers] Python version changes in linux

Didn't get any reaction to this in the BPython ML so I'll try here.

I've got a test build (almost) for x86_64 using a Debian Etch chroot 
environment, statically linking against Python 2.5.  It doesn't work 
under Ubuntu Feisty since it ships with Python 2.5.1c1.  Linking with 
dynamic against Python 2.5 seems to work OK.

So what should we do?  I assume DJ is going to hit a similar issue with 
the i386 linux builds.
