Anonymous access means you do not need to have a password (or  
username) to check out the source code, regardless of the system in  
use: CVS, SVN, git, bzr, etc... Another way of thinking about  
anonymous access is that you have read-only access. Developers with  
"commit" rights have write access to the repository.

In the case of "svn commit," users will, of course, need a password.  
Not all GForge users will be given commit rights, only BF approved  
committers.
