Hm, I am not sure if I am able to help here, because I am quite busy with work 
at the moment, but I would find it sad to drop Yafray. I have quite some 
experience with raytracing, and also wrote my own raytracer which uses 
Yafray's XML syntax. So if everything fails I would like to step in and help 
with keeping Yafray alive. Can someone give a more detailed job description 
and maybe a todo list?
