No please do not bring this code back! It still is a very instable  
hack, and I doubt even we should support an options that reopens window  
and makes it borderless with the current state of troubles we got with  
opengl.

This is a user pref, best would be to have that decision (how to open a  
window) defined by the window manager. Typically icon shortcuts in  
desktops provide that.
(and OSX has .app bundles for it.)

Then there's the very confusing term "full screen". It can mean two  
different things. What we talk about here is 'full size window'.
