[Bf-committers] settings that do not get saved with .blends

The example I can think of now is the colour swatches, when you click on 
the colour picker, there are a number of swatches to the right, 
Ctrl+click on these will add a colour to it, however these colours are 
reset to default upon exit.

bug or design intention?, or something which will be superseded in the 
future?
