thanks for this repair, i think that this is the best aproacch
but if you want some info on a 32 bit chroot under linux you can try
here:
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/base/amd64/howtos/index.xml?part=1&chap=2

it is oriented towards gentoo but the instructions are followable by
others distros as well.
