[Bf-committers] undopushes and using tools inside of tools

Add a parameter to the function call that determines whether it does  
an undo push or not. Rename the function, then create a wrapper under  
the old function name that always calls for an undo push. Current  
functionality is maintained, but if developers want to access the  
function sans push, they just bypass the wrapper, using the proper  
"no undo push" parameter.

Is that hacky, or a good solution?
