The changes I have made are bandaids until I can get a few hours to sit 
down and redo this interaction. I am in the middle of trying to sell my 
house and so I do not have a whole lot of time to sit and code at home. 
I have been doing little things on breaks at work, but that is confined 
to things I can do in 15 minutes. This is on my todo (see the blenderwiki)
