I was planning to put that in the bugtracker. The separate
function is a bit messed up at the moment. It does separate
if you duplicate the entire object (so you have two separate
parts in 1 object).

how is having the function in the menu related to the function
not working correctly? it doesn't work correctly with PKEY either.

I'm all for committing :)

But...  In this case note if you have a curve extend it a bit and select
part
of it p does not seperate it.
So should this really be in the menu, or is this a bug that needs to be
fixed?
