Yes, that problem dissapeared in 2.37 (I've a RADEON 9200).

It revives from hell in the CVS compilations.

I'm using Windows XP SP2 (atm version) and:
- MSVC build (official alpha, beta and RC & unnoficials) presents the slowdown.
- CygWin builds (unofficial) don't present those slowdowns.

So my preliminary conclusion is: the slowdown is caused by MSVC. Why?
Dunno. It's a fact since... always.
