I agree... with the new outliner, it's starting to become suitable to 
teach students with.

With the addition of transform gizmos ( to allow easy world / local axis 
movement of objects in perspective / camera view ), and a more feature 
rich outliner ( renaming, parenting, deleting etc ), it'll be an 
excellent choice for students.

I've seen news popping up in the likes of www.opengl.org as well, good 
work :)
