Would it be possible to have an option for repeatable random numbers?

As I noted earlier this would be useful for a test harness, however, it
would also be extremely useful for doing distributed rendering of scenes on
untrusted computers.

For distributed rendering on untrusted computers, you need to have at least
two clients render the same scenes and then compare them. Without having
repeatable random numbers, detecting images that have been deliberately
manipulated would be difficult to detect automatically.

Also, for it to be feasible to distribute complex scenes, most of the model
and texture data will need to be procedural. Thus repeatable random numbers
will be needed for the generation of the models and materials as well.
