you only have to ask on usenet comp.sys.sgi.* there are sgi engineers
there.

check ebay, an octane with SI graphics is all you really need for
hardware. SI+TEX would be better for UV edit support.

the software is ...less... easy to come by, but if you're a serious coder,
something could be worked out.
