One of the things i would like to see (cause of the organization and the instant response) was something like "spreadsheet" ordering. OOPs already have that lines connecting related objects, but it's not very helpfull.
I propose like "order by material" and, or the lines that go from the chosen material to the meshes that are using it change the color, or simply all of the rest get hide, wiith a button to unhide all.
