Hi,

I'm not sure XML is the right meta-format to store 3D informations. I
allready have had bad experience using it to store meshes, especially
with the parsing time. It's not yet proven that XML can replace the
.blend file format efficiently. If the main issue I see about XML is
speed, size of files could also be a problem.
As far as I know, the current implementation of an XML file format for
blender works only for saving (the fastest part) and not for loading. It
will be very interesting to test it with big meshes and big scenes when
it will be available.

Aside from that little issue, I think your approach is quite interesting.
