yes even 33mhz machines used 1280x1024, some with 48bits (VGX)
12 bit component RGBA.

sgi default gamma is 1.2, 1.7 is a bit easier on my eye, 2.2
or peecee is ugly to view. of course 2.2 on an sgi doesn't 
look anything like a peecee monitor in it's natural state.
images on default 1.7 gamma, result in darker images on
regular peecees.

I don't get it, what's so funny?
