While using the ' -mcpu=G4 -fast ' flag does allow me to compile QT 
support into blender without the ID error/conflict, it does cause a 
problem with the display of the buttons in the radiosity buttons panes, 
and the file select windows (image select included) the problem with 
the file windows is an occasional crash when clicking on/opening a new 
directory.
There has got (is this wishful thinking ????) to be a combination of 
flags (-fast list) that should allow the QT support to work without 
causing the other problems, hopefully it's something at the top of the 
list, since thats where I started.
