On to your problem, you say you build from cvs, but the directory name
seems to indicate a non bf-blender source, did you follow the
instructions on http://projects.blender.org/cvsx/?group_id=9 ?

The errors you mailed look like either libpng is not being linked in, or
it isn't installed. Unfortunately I can't tell because the information
containing the linker invocation has been left out.
