IS it possible to deform a surface with an arbitrary deformer derived from 
a polygon mesh? Like could you inflate a mesh according to its normals and
use this as a hull for some kind of arbitrary lattice deformer?  Then apply
the deformation 
to any mesh like you can a lattice.. I'm not talking implementation-wise,
but concept-wise.. 
The implementation might require some form of 3D dimensional curve fitting
or somesuch 
thing.. Is it possible?
