[Bf-committers] Raytracing - Hollow Sphere problem

Hello,
it seems that nobody ever tried to render the simplest cliche object in
existance with raytracing: A non-solid glass sphere!
The correct way to model such an object would be to make a sphere, extrude
and scale it inwards a bit, and then making the outer faces point outside
and the inner faces point inside.
I did this, and I got a black render, OR a render that definitely had wrong
refraction.
How is this supposed to work?
