Hi,

I've made some new Windows Blender icons, adhering to the formats and =
styles in the Windows XP icon guidelines ( =
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=3D/library/en-us/dnwxp/=
html/winxpicons.asp ). Windows XP uses icons up to 48x48px with alpha =
channel support. The current Blender icons are only 32x32 with no alpha, =
and look a bit strange in Windows XP since they get blown up to 48x48 ( =
screenshot: http://mke3.net:9000/blender/lab/_gfx/content/oldicons.png =
).

The icons (with screenshots at the different bit depths and sizes) are =
online here: http://mke3.net:9000/blender/lab/content/blender_icons.html =
. I've only made winblender.ico and winblenderfile.ico so far since I'm =
not sure what others are necessary (eg. locked files?). I can also make =
some for other Blender-related things like the .Bpib files (these =
currently show the Windows default icon) etc if you'd like. I think the =
icon format is backwards compatible to earlier versions of Windows, but =
it'd be great if someone could test them.

Cheers,

Matt
