i agree that things can get done a lot quicker that way.
except all the history is lost - 'show your work' you might
say. also, IRC logs are not the answer, they are hard to
read. so, although it might apear to be a short term
advantage, it doesn't benefit everyone, which IS what 
we're trying to do. and btw i think the linux success 
is do more to the adaption of linux tools, and methods,
and linux oriented people...
