upgraded to autoconf 2.54. did ./configure, and ./bootstrap processes. Makefile passes gcc compiler directives to sgi compiler, and fails. I assume the detection is done in the configure script somewhere, it used to be done in guessconfig and called by nan_definitions.mk. I am told this is no longer part of the configuration. where is a good place to look for the problem? John
