OK. I got the saver to crash again. This happened when there were more 
than 17 links to the material nodes from the object node. All the links 
had the same label, but different target ids. If I do not set the links or 
set less than 17 links everything works fine. All material nodes are saved 
correctly, and contain similar material trees.
