Hi all,
Find attached an adapted proposal with a better wording about the "USB
plug" analogy, which only should serve as a mental model, not as an
actual public statement. :)
I've also elaborated the target audience and the message for them.
(BTW: Paregos please help me, is this something communication/marketing
experts can use as a briefing? :)

I'm just playing the role of the Marketing Department here. :)
What I propose are guidelines for communication to our general target
audience; a message for third parties we like to activate to get
involved. Presenting a "Uni-Verse system" to them presumes this is a
single product offering we make make, which confuses too much. The word
"Platform" is abused a lot too in marketing, but it's a better
description of the actual offering we make.
What I clearly read in the EU reviewers report is that they miss a key
message and offering to an interested audience. Our offering should not
be to invite third parties to "get the Uni-Verse system", but to accept
the *product* Verse as a standard, by offering them as entry point one
of the components in the Uni-Verse platform.
For example; for the tools market we need to get Adobe or Macromedia
interested, or Discreet or Alias.
As a result of this Uni-Verse Consortium, we can aim for to be ready to
get the "product" Verse accepted as a future standard, and invite third
parties to re-use and extend the "platform" of Verse-enabled products.
This is - for me - a quite clear distinction, and I think will be
welcomed by the reviewers as our exploitation offer a lot.
