Hey all,

Another early reminder that your Friday reports are due tomorrow!
Please answer the standard questions [1] in your reports!

I would like to point out that midterms start in less than
two weeks, so now would be a good time to pay special attention
to any goals you may have set for the midterm.

Pretty soon I would like to start doing Blendernation articles
about your projects. Out of curiosity, does anybody have a
project that can currently generate some nice eye candy for
an article? (Preferably on a wiki page that I can link to.)
Some examples of articles from last year are:
[1] The standard report questions are:

a) What did you do in the previous week?

This week was pretty productive! Finally, basic geometry import is ready! Also, I've made some small fixes to exporter. Users can try to import/export geometries.

b) What do you plan to do in the following week?

Next week I am going to code import/export material properties, multiple uv sets,
per-face materials.

c) What issues are you having that might require
extra attention?

Does anyone have an idea how to import polygons with more than 4 vertices? Currently the importer simply ignores such polygons.

d) Do you feel that you are on schedule, ahead of schedule,
or behind schedule? If you are behind schedule, please let
us know what we can do together to get things back on track.
I am on schedule. As I mentioned in my previous weekly report, by July 3rd I am going to build usable geometry importer and exporter supporting uvs, normals, materials and textures. You can see my current progress here.
