Dear all.

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this kind of
question but ...
I start anyway.

Imagine, there is an addon in trunc. The developer produces a new
version and
a friend of him wants to update this addon on his computer. Since he
has no idea
about computers, he uses this 'install addon' option in the
preferences.

This does not work, the addon cannot be updated. Under MacOS some
strange things
happen and under Windows, Blender is blocked constantly saying
'there is a mismatch of
the old addon and the recently installed one'. The addon cannot even
be activated in the
preferences.

Is there an other 'simple' way to update manually? Of course, you
can do it via cp
in a shell with superuser rights. But what I search is an easy way
... for non-specialists.

Thanks for some comments.

Blendphys.

PS: Otherwise, one could introduce a new button called 'update' to
update any
existing addon. <= To my opinion this is urgently needed!
