[Bf-interface] UI Meeting Minutes - August 3rd

Hi all, accidentally sent first mail too soon. Here is complete meeting
minutes.

Here are the notes from today's first Blender UI meeting in irc.freenode.net,
#blendercoders

1) Current Projects:

- Patch for Custom Icons in add-ons is in development. Has a few issues,
such as no relative path support, but is nearing ready for review:

- User Preferences and Properties editor tabs are nearly done. Agreement
was reached on User Preferences tabs being good to go, pending final
usability and code reviews from Jonathan Williamson, Pablo Vasquez, and
Campbell Barton.

Properties editor tabs need more work and may need to wait on a tab design
update. They take too much space currently and do not improve the usability
much beyond the visual communication.

- Layout tabs offer good usability but takes up too much space. Should
probably wait on a larger overhaul of the top bar.

2) Design Tasks:

- Modifiers UI, agreement was reached to implement drag and drop for
re-ordering modifiers. Other issues can wait until after drag and drop.
Drag and drop should also be added to constraints at same time.

3) Other topics

- Pablo Vasquez is working on an updated UI Widget design, based loosely
around William Reynish's original designs. He will present in coming weeks:

- Toolbar tabs need fix for short editors compressing them too much.


4) Next Meeting
The UI meeting is planned for every other week. Next meeting will be August
17th.
