i think petter's proposal is interesting, but i also agree zippy, it
would be a completely new system.
But altough i think that if you get used to the new concept, it could
be a efficient working too.

I prefere the current system, because, you can use one hand to choose
the tool with the keyboard, and
use the other hand to apply it, so you have not to use the mouse for
everything.

The efficientest way is to use both systems, so you can change the
system while working.

But what i think is very interessting is halving a face with the mouse,
like in the gif anim:
building on it but still huge changes. While they would be great just
small things need to be edited right now. Or a whole new design needs
to drafted and *approved by Ton*-stamp*

I am just after what you want but more proactive movement needs to
happen to get it going ..

Here is a condensed version:

Left mousebutton is used to select and modify geometry

Right mousebutton is used to create geometry

Middlemousebutton/scrollwheel is used to modify selection

look at it and condense

does not,

As for Modos Zoom. It Is a zoom button. Where ever the Mouse is
located pressing the zoom will zoom smoothly into that cursor, there
by removing the need and confusion placement of the 3d cursor. Which
leads to a far faster zoom in and out around the screen.

new

How is it 'really nice'? Without details, it's hard to implement

something

just knowing that it's "really nice" :)
