probably this is nonsense (i don't really understand quaternions and how to
convert them :)) but wouldn't it be possible to always interpolate with
quaternions? and if eulers get displayed in the curve editor then the curves
that get drawn inbetween keyframes simply get calculated by sampling the
quaternion interpolation?
