RE: euler quaternion discussion

What do people think about having Euler or quaternion an option per  
limb?  eg:  legs and arms could be different.  Is this possible?  IMO  
Clearly euler is easier to animate with FK, but quats have advantages  
for IK (no gimbal crazyness)...  Could IK automatically use quats?   
How would IK/FK blending work then?  could limb rotation be both,  
then averaged?

I haven't animated
