[Bf-funboard] Visual aid for constraint during transform

Hey Everyone (that means you Theeth) ;)

Broken and I had a quick talk and came up with what might be a good idea
for a visual aid for constraints, particularly planar constraints (two
axis). The basic premise is that once you chose a plane to constrain to,
a faint grid draws around the object center which represents that plane
in 3d space. This grid would not have to be vivid nor large to be a
useful representaion of the action you're performing. Moreover, if the
user choses to use snap by holding CTRL, viola, there's a grid there to
snap to. As the object is moved, the grid can "follow" as it were,
fading at its edges perhaps to indicate that it continues but isn't
visualized. It might look something like this:

Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions? Flames?

Regards,
