They are still needed to give a hint about the functioning of the menu.

I tested filled triangels of different shape and size. Either too small, 
so they look more like dots, or too big and important. Because of the small 
distance to the very important first letters of the items they have to step 
back a little bit. But I agree in that the current arrows are a bit odd.

Such pairs with a slash are simply unelegant. And it's quite long. But 
it leaves no doubt about the contents, so I will think about it.

Naming will become a nightmare if you start to optimize initial letters 
for autocompletion!

Sure. But tooltips have absolutely low priority for me right now.

Menus diapperar when you move out of them. An aditional invisible save border 
could lead to uncertainty.

Exactly like I mean it to be. I guess I should include a mousecursor 
in my images.

And multiple items might be highlighted - e.g. if you move of "Boolean

Yes, sure. It's just I have no example of that on my page.


Have I now reached a level where you might say, that you would like to see 
this implemented?
