Not that I'm complaining but I fail to see how thats better than
a more compact version of the current space bar menu.  I mean
with 4 entrys in the space bar its almost the same amount of movement to just
line them up instead of offsetting the two middle ones a little and squishing
them together.  Seems like a lot of work for not much improvement
(just me probably)
One thing I think we should do is make the space bar menu another mode.
so that we could use say 3 to jump to the 3rd item, and or arrows keys
to select stuff in the menu.

Also I think its visually helpful to have the >> or something equivalent
to show you what is expandable and what isn't.
