I mean I like how he has horizontal lines to separate subgroups and
corresponding hotkeys, etc. Don't worry. (Sometimes [or often?] I write
things that aren't very important)

It was your idea to order things according to how frequently they're used.
That list of 3 things is probably a more accurate list of toolbox commands,
according to their frequency.
I don't think the order of things should depend solely on their frequency.
But I agree that the frequency things are accessed in the toolbox should be
taken into consideration, as well as other considerations - like
alphabetical order, putting pairs of similar items together, maybe having
the longer descriptions of commands below the shorter ones (may be more
visually pleasing).

I mean that originally I liked your multibox idea, but I had reservations
due it being quite crowded, particularly if the hotkeys were also shown.
Ton's cross mockups seemed very uncluttered and it was a lot easier for me
to imagine hotkeys being displayed there without cluttering things up. I
guess it would be the same for your cross designs though I didn't realize it
at the time.

I liked your multibox thing earlier... I saw in ton's mock-up that the thing
you select (edit, transform, etc) would still be displayed - plus you could
probably go back to the main categories again... I liked that. Now I realise
that in design 3 (cross 2) you could also go back to the main categories and
maybe it isn't important to show the name of the category you're in...
without it it means less text on the screen. (though it seems a bit more
crowded with everything bunched up)
