[Bf-funboard] particles from a duped vert mesh within another particle system.

Recently I was using a duped vert particle system to animate a volcano
hurling rocks into the air. I wanted a trail of smoke coming from each rock
which I tried to do by adding a smoke emiting particle system to the
original rock that was duped. No success.
I realise I could have done this with a path or keyframes for individual
rocks then add a particle system for each one. With several hundred rocks
however, I decided "who needs smoke anyway!".
It would be wonderful if you could add a particle system to a mesh that was
itself a duped vert mesh within an other particle system.
Is this possible do you think?
