I can see your point, but then it would be confusing
as to which buttons in the 3D window header represent
which buttons in the new layers system. If there was a
new type of floating panel like the XSI one you could
use that in the 3D window. I kindof like the current
layers too, it's just that I feel the layers could be
much more flexible, clear and easy to use. I do think
the Mkey functionality should remain though (looking
differently according to the new layers system) for
quick moving of objects between layers.


Just some thoughts.
