[Bf-funboard] layers vs. groups, and "no render".

It's unusual for me to agree with Goofster, but... I agree.

  We are all intelligent people here. Since Ton made it clear twice how
layers are handled in Blender, we now have a definition and can use that
term accordingly.

  My personal opinion (sorry, not big enough for a proposal): The
objectbased approach is fine and more flexible.

  Assigning attributes to objects instead of layers leaves more room for
creativity. Because the list of possible assignable behavior can get quite
long (selectable yes/no, movable in relation to parent yes/no[thinking of
rigged armatures] and whatnot.)

  And the presentation of the layers right now is not meant for cramming a
lot of information in it. An 'occupied' color is a good idea, but much more
will overload.

  If you want to decide which layer to render and which not, simply put the
twenty buttons in the F10 Render buttons. This approach is already used in
edit buttons and envmaps. Why not there, too?
