<p>I would like to remind everyone that we dropped the Blender
Trainer Certifications last year. It's not a strategic goal
Blender Foundation will put efforts in. <br>

<p>Let's not start a discussion on this again. That decision is
final. I expect is that this creates space for the community
(commercial educators, institutions) to develop their own
certifications instead. Further, most 3D tools use similar
concepts nowadays. Learning the software is nothing compared to
learning how to become a good artist or developer - that is where
the real challenge for educators is!<br>
</p>
<p>Please also absorb the super simple and focused Blender mission
and vision station; it should work as inspiration for what we can
do to help everyone.</p>
<p><a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://www.blender.org/about/">https://www.blender.org/about/</a></p>
<p>Ideas that are possible are for example;</p>
<p>- offering/developing downloadable classes (with trainer
acompanion) for various learning goals or age groups.<br>
- a section on the website with a good overview of external public
(free/open) learning portals.<br>
- a more active volunteering group helping out other educators
with questions.<br>
- ideas for localization of content, and how to offer this.</p>
<p>Anything is welcome that will help everyone to help themselves,
that's the open source spirit. The ultimate goal should be that
you don't need us :)<br>

Great! Blender education should definitely get
more attention and support.<br class="">
There used to be an education chat in
blender.chat, but unfortunately this<br class="">
chat was mainly used by people to ask support
questions or people to<br class="">
promote their YT tutorial. So communication
moved to Zoom/Meet/Email.<br class="">
There are a couple of initiatives related to
Blender education going on.<br class="">
I'm available to help out.<br class="">

I’m teaching Blender online and in person for
Penn State University in a<br class="">
fine arts and design context. My web-hosted
materials are open licenced,<br class="">
but also heavily rely on exisiting Youtube
content. These materials would<br class="">
not be very helpful for teaching k-12.<br class="">
<br class="">
Ton - I’m happy to contribute. To answer your
question, funding to develop<br class="">
OER materials would be super helpful. I think
the ability to organize and<br class="">
sort education content in terms of end-goals
would be helpful as well since<br class="">
process/methodology and theory is just as
important as learning how to use<br class="">
the software from my students’ perspective
(when and how to apply<br class="">
knowledge). Probably a much longer
conversation.<br class="">

I am using blender in an architectural firm on
a project basis and for<br class="">
hobby in my freetime. There are a lot of areas
that I haven't touched and I<br class="">
believe a lot of people jumping to the wrong
conclusion here/imao/.<br class="">
Although money would be a great incentive I
think a lot of you are already<br class="">
earning money with blender. I think what would
be very helpful is a curated<br class="">
set of learning paths and a PAID CERTIFICATION
process. By curated I mean<br class="">
from real, currently working
professionals/like Overmind studios or Ian<br class="">
Hubert.../. Don't get me wrong, hobbyists are
great and blender in general<br class="">
is great for a lot of things but the money and
the real world application<br class="">
is in the VFX industry. PAID because during my
learning journey<br class="">
unfortunately I've met a lot of creators who
were fun and interesting in<br class="">
the begining but turned out to be wrong and
useless towards the end.<br class="">

I teach 3D animation and game design in a
college in Ireland. We use a<br class="">
range of software, but Blender is our core 3D
tool. We use our own<br class="">
tutorials/resources. A large number of
colleges in Ireland use Blender and<br class="">
create/use their own teaching materials. I
would love to get involved in a<br class="">
conversation about supporting educators using
Blender. There are some<br class="">
wonderful resources already available to the
