We can start with a list of topics,contributions and questions we would like to talk about, and thenhave a discussion on each topic to try to reach common ground.<br>
We can chat on the #blendereducationIRC channel on freenode too.<br>
Maybe a forum could help to keep trackof all the treads?<br>
The proposal here,is to create astandardized tests or exams (or exam set) by skill, and offerthis to schools and colleges to certify students with.The certificate would still be officiallyissued by the school itself not by the BF.<br>

We all onthe mail list, have extensive experienceteaching blender, would be great if we can build a standard thateveryone can use.<br>

On my humble opinion, a certification is a tool thattells an employer that an individual has studied some field, and isused as a certainty that the person you are hiring has the skills todo the work. I am aware it's not a 100% guarantee of proof, but stillis a recognition of his/her habilities. It will become aresponsibility of the certificate issuer the quality of education ablender student receives, and i am sure we can help with it, workingon creating a standard for evaluating the knowledge.<br>

About the certificate itself, in thepast, Ton suggest to create or use something like Mozilla Open Badges(<a href="http://openbadges.org" target="_blank">http://openbadges.org</a> ) insteadof a certificate. Seems like a good idea to me, what do you think?.<br>

My application to BFCT did not work and there is a chance that the process is broken somewhere.<br>
<br>
I initially applied and my first submission had some missing information. Fair enough, I followed the suggestions sent by Willem (thanks a lot for the attention BTW) and created a webpage with all required information.<br>
Next, I submitted the eForm twice. However, for both attempts, despite I got a "Thank you" webpage after committing the application, I did not get the auto reply email.<br>
?Therefore, I tried for the third time but submitting with a different email address. At this last time I did get an auto-reply email fine. However,? according to Willem, no entry was found in the server.<br>

Therefore, my application did not go through despite all of my attempts.<br>

Piotr: you talk a lot about the tasks you set your students, but not their exams... and perhaps that is what this discussion is about? How do you decide your students finished the course successfully, or failed?<br>

Octavio, do you have students asking your for certification? And if so... certification as what? And... if so... then do you already give them a certificate? We can all always give students a piece of paper that says they completed a course in Blender that we taught... and if you are a certified trainer, that could already be worth a lot? Is the Blender foundation needed for this, or is it just a couple teachers getting together?<br>

Is it a good idea to do Blender certification (blender basics/advanced), or Skill based certification (3d modelling/animation)?<br>
<br>
And... how to test this? Some basic 3d knowledge can be done multiple choice, but I guess there will always be a part that's "artistic/subjective".<br>
