[Bf-education] Bf-education Digest, Vol 70, Issue 6

I agree with james of montreal - seeking artists for a project is a bit
outside what i expect for a blender education forum, unless the project is
specifically an education tool. But i'm also new to this site and don't
know the established forum etiquitte.

I would be interested in building blender education resources
collaboratively.
Let me give you an example. I studied physics and specialized in Nuclear
Magnetic Resonance. Books were fine, but when i came across the Basics of
NMR <http://www.cis.rit.edu/htbooks/nmr/> site learning became suddenly much
easier, mostly because of all the embedded (java?) animations that accompany
the text. You don't have to be a physicist to appreciate the amazing leap
forward animations can give to technical documentation (in the link, skip to
spin physics and click on any of the red-green arrow buttons for an
example). Now, imagine what could be done with Blender.

One could turn blender in on itself and develop a similar tutorial style to
teach blender, however, I've found that the GUI and features are too
unstable at the moment, changing significantly with each .n release, to
develop good documentation. How many times have i found a youtube or
blender.org tutorial on exactly the topic i want only to discover that it
was made with an only-slightly-older version of blender thatt doesn't work
at all with my release.

So anyhoo, if anyone has a neat collaborative education project in mind,
give a hollar. If not, but you'd like to joing a group where collaboration
and mentoring is a core component of the work get in touch with me
