    I feel that even if "thumbed", keeping it 270px (as original) does

    not trigger the color depth "optimization"<br>

    this could explain why just "thumb" attribute causes it.<br>

    It could depend on how the image is "optimized", and what triggers

    it: <br>

    probably uploading a version with 250 color 8bit will not trigger

    any optimization, while 24bit does.<br>
